A Thought on Alexander Ho, Leonard Lai & Soh Kain Tiong (Su) – the 3 Most Famous Dive Guides of Mabul by Stephen Wong

“My first visit to Mabul Island was in Dec 1995, and I was there for 2 weeks. After a week there, I wanted to de-gas. Skipping the afternoon dives, I took a walk to Sipadan Water Village Resort (SWV). I wasn’t staying at SWV but on the island one. At SWV’s dive center, I met one Japanese dive master (Miss Momy) and a Malaysian Chinese divemaster (Mr. John). Subsequently, they introduced me to their Japanese dive consultant Mr. Yoshi. We spoke and they graciously provided me with a tour of SWV. Yoshi kindly presented to me a copy of “Fish Watching Press” of Sipadan/Mabul Islands (published by Diving World – Japan). After speaking with them and reading the Fish Watch Press, I knew, for the past week, I wasn’t really experiencing what Mabul could offer. I immediately was attracted to the resort and SWV’s diving culture.”
